Ours got recycled on halloween day itself..gave most of it out to trick or treaters. I'm happy to give the kids good chocolate but all the artificial color laden stuff will get thrown out if there's any lying around.
And I agree about 'healthy' party treats making sense only if the other parents are on the same page.

beautiful! a plan to let them participate...when I think about this stuff, which oddly enough, I do with some frequency, even though I don't have children, I do think that we should probably allow for this sort of participation if we want to avoid rebellion and not let the kids feel ostracized by their different rules...

this is admirable and thoughtful planning...

I guess I think about this a lot because I think about where it all starts...at birth...at pregnancy...

sometimes I think about becoming a midwife...once I'm well.

Now that I've learned all I know (and I've learned how to heal myself naturally too late to have children---often much to my regret) I often simply feel grateful that I don't have to deal with these issues. I can only imagine how nightmarish it can be.

I hope you find a solution for your daughter so that she does not get caught in the cross-fire...it's a tragedy parents don't know how they are poisoning their children.

thanks for stopping by my blog...it's nice to know about this blog for my readers with children.

Parenting has never been an easy task. It is the most important thing on which the future of a child depends. Even then people accept it as a fact that they are very few who are well prepared for this. Many would consult experts for very simple tasks that are required to be performed at home and willingly learn to be productive. Yet many are not willing to seek coaching and guidance for raising a child.

This is AWESOME!!! I have a 2 year old and she has limited experience with non organic food, ie traveling and not having enough snacks. I have been wondering if it's possible that my daughter will be able to with stand the temptation/pressure of eating or sharing in snacks that other kids have. My worst nightmare is the oreo cookie mom who thinks that's a good afternoon treat!
Thank you for sharing a wondeful story and Kudos to you for raising awesome girls!
