So I’m sitting at a Panera right now and a quote from one of our team members jumped into my head. It goes something like: “If you don’t take time for wellness now you will have to take time for illness later”
This rings true right now as I can over hear (ok I’m a little nosey) two women in the 60’s talking about all their “issues”. Migraines, blurred vision, lack of energy, blood pressure, and thyroid…well, at least that’s all for now (in the first 5 minutes!).
When I “grow up” I want to be talking with my friends about the vacation I just took, my kids graduating from college, my new swanky piece of jewelry, the volunteer work I’m doing and the people I’m helping, including my family.
I wish the same for my children. We already know too many kids who have what are considered “normal” health issues and miss school way too much. Not to mention all the fun they are missing!
Life should be about living better and better each day, especially as we become wiser. I try to make time for our family’s wellness now to assure we don’t have to over dedicate time to illness in the future. Are they choices you’re making today moving you in the right direction for tomorrow (and your children’s tomorrow)?
Cheers to Healthy Days to Come!
Update: As I finish writing this snippet the ladies have moved onto another topic…nursing homes. I think I need to move seats so I can enjoy a positive meal with an old friend.
