• Mission: Enjoy Proud Mom Moment

At first I was really bummed. There’s a big training happening this weekend for our work-at-home team through Shaklee.  They’re bringing in corporate powerhouses to talk about the science of the Shaklee difference and the opportunity of working with Shaklee from home.  Last time I went to one of the corporate training our team grew by over 100% because the science behind Shaklee and our mission in the disability community is so strong.  Now, why was I bummed?  My husband got called out of town and we were going to be juggling the kids to assure that we got the most out of the training.  Now what?

After considering all the options (no other childcare available), I decided to bring my daughters with me (6&7 years old).  7-9:30p.m. was a long meeting and we’d be crossing into bedtime, but they always are asking what happens at Shaklee meetings, now was their chance to find out.

We get to the meeting, sit with our new team member Jennifer and hear some phenomenal science behind Shaklee supported by audience/Shaklee member testimonials.

Then I go to the back of the room to thank one of the trainers that has provided information to me that has really helped move our team forward.  She asks if I would like to share my story with the room as they wanted to share a female business success story.

    AWESOME!

My daughters are in the room and they get to watch me be featured as the female business success story. What an example I got to set for them to reach high and achieve their goals!  My heart was racing with excitement as I spoke before my girls for the rest of the time.

As I told our story and how we got started as a customer of Shaklee because of our daughter and her seizures, my daughter yells out “I don’t have seizures anymore!” (big smile on her face). Yep, she gave her first Shaklee testimonial in the middle of my talk…I loved it!

I finished telling everyone of our success as a Shaklee customer, my daughter’s health success, our business success and my brother’s business success.  Many of you know, my brother is the first business leader in Shaklee with Down Syndrome.  Then I returned to my seat as a proud Mom – which is even more important than being successful in business.
