After Restaurants for 9 Days, it’s Time for Some Home Cookin’

Vacation was a blast.  I have many highlights from the trip that I’ll share in upcoming posts, but the most important thing on my mind right now is getting good food into the house.  We cleaned out the pantry and fridge before we left, so today will be some major grocery shopping.

The day before we left FL to return to IL, my oldest (6 yrs old) daughter said, “Mom, I’m tired of restaurants.  I just want our food at home.”

That is a proud Mommy moment!

Every now and then I feel guilty because I don’t make gourment casseroles or fancy dishes.  We have simply flavored food with some cooked, but mostly raw vegetables at dinner.  Our breakfast and lunches are usually the same way, filled with whole foods, eaten the way that nature intended.  My daughter took all that guilt away and I look forward to making our veggie and fruit platters today!
